Device & License

The Device page shows hardware information about your machine, manages your WifiCone license, and provides system controls (restart/shutdown).

Hardware Information

Go to Admin Panel → Device.

The hardware panel displays:

Field Description
Board / Model Hardware model name (e.g., Raspberry Pi 4 Model B)
CPU Processor model and core count
Architecture x64, arm64, or armv7
Kernel Linux kernel version
Memory Total RAM
Storage Total disk size and free space

License Status

Your WifiCone license is tied to the machine's hardware fingerprint. The license panel shows:

Field Description
Status Active, Trial, Expired, or Missing
License Key Your activated license key
Email Email associated with the license
Machine ID Unique identifier for this device
Machine Fingerprint Hardware fingerprint used for license binding
Expiry Date When the license expires (for time-limited plans)
Trial Ends At Trial period end date (if on trial)
Last Verified When the license was last checked against the server

License Statuses

Status Meaning
Active License is valid and verified
Trial Running on the free trial period — all features available
Offline Grace License was verified previously but the device hasn't reached the server recently — still operational
Expired License period has ended — renew to restore full functionality
Missing No license key entered — some features may be limited

Activating a License

  1. Purchase a license from my.wificone.com or your reseller.
  2. Go to Device → License → Activate.
  3. Enter your License Key and Email.
  4. Click Activate — the device contacts the WifiCone license server to verify.
  5. Status changes to Active immediately on success.

The device must have internet access to activate.

CAPTCHA Settings

Configure the difficulty of the CAPTCHA shown on the captive portal login:

Level Description
Easy Simple math or image selection
Medium Slightly more complex puzzle (default)
Hard More challenging — reduces automated abuse

Set to None to disable CAPTCHA entirely (useful for trusted networks or if CAPTCHA causes problems with older devices).

System Controls

Restart

Restarts the WifiCone service only (not the full device). Active sessions are preserved if Auto-continue on reboot is enabled.

Click Restart Service → confirm in the dialog.

Shutdown

Powers off the device completely.

Click Shutdown → confirm in the dialog.

Shutdown is irreversible without physical access to the device. Make sure you can reach it physically before shutting down remotely.

System Information

For more detailed hardware diagnostics, go to System → Hardware:

  • Full CPU info (model, speed, cache)
  • Memory usage breakdown
  • Disk partitions and usage
  • Connected USB devices
  • Board temperature history
